Rei is my favorite character because she is the most mysterious. She is like Yui Ikari but also the 17th Angel Kaworu Nagasi. She is quiet and never smiles at anyone but Gendoo Ikari.. She is said to be the Dummy Plug system and a clone.
Rei I was just a small child and she was strangled but Ritsuko Akagi's mother.
Rei II grew up to meet Shinji and Asuka but died in Unit 00 when she self destroyed it to save Shinji.
Rei III was created after that Incodent and has not died.
Rei's other clones were destroyed by Ritsuko who was having a nervous breakdown while being held at gunpoint by Misato.

With the two movies they have not yet graced Australian Screens yet.
